Hi Gert,
Saw your post in the Extension Requests forum about an interactive map for your sailing forum — this is very doable. I build custom phpBB extensions, and what you're describing fits well.
The idea: a members-only map page (guests blocked via phpBB's permission system) where each member can drop a pin for their current position and optionally draw planned routes. I'd build it on Leaflet with OpenStreetMap tiles — free, no API keys, and well suited to marine use. Positions/routes get stored in your phpBB database and tied to each user account, so only logged-in members can view or post.
I can build a working v1 for $150. That covers the map page, per-member position pins, route drawing, a proper permission so you control who can post, and saving everything via phpBB's secure AJAX. If you'd like extras later (position history, privacy/fuzzing options, etc.) we can scope those separately.
